** 【Caixin Net】** Climate change and the wave of digitalization are both key forces driving economic transformation. It is wrong to set economic growth against low-carbon development. On March 26, Zou Jiayi, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (referred to as the “AIIB”), attended the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 Annual Conference and made the above remarks.

Zou Jiayi cited an example, saying that economic development and green transition are moving side by side in Asia. The application of digital technologies improves the production efficiency of clean energy; green energy continues to support data centers, making artificial intelligence more and more widespread.

Zou Jiayi also said that strengthening regional cooperation is an important force for Asia to advance both green and digital transformation. The ASEAN Grid Initiative is a typical example. This is a plan to connect the power system of ten ASEAN member countries. It is expected that by 2045, a cross-border interconnected regional power grid system will be established among Southeast Asian countries. The plan will help integrate renewable energy, promote regional integration, and enhance energy security.
