I just did some research on German banks for foreigners, and honestly, there are more options than I thought. Most of my expat friends use N26 because it's super easy to open an account from your phone, and free ATM withdrawals are pretty handy, although limited to three times a month. But there's also Revolut if you want something more comprehensive, especially if you trade cryptocurrencies.
The interesting thing is that traditional German banks like Commerzbank still work well if you prefer something more established. Sparkasse has that community vibe, but the language can be a hassle. And then there's DKB, which is the second-largest digital bank here, and many tech-savvy expats recommend it quite a bit.
Honestly, it depends on what you're looking for. If you want everything digital and quick, German digital banks are your best bet. But if you need more traditional support, there are alternatives. What do you guys use? Does anyone have experience with these?
