You’ll only work 4 days this week

According to the notice released by the General Office of the State Council regarding the arrangements for certain public holidays in 2026, the Qingming Festival will be a holiday from April 4 to April 6, totaling 3 days, and there will be no rest-day adjustments.

So, this week has only 4 working days—so you’ll reach the weekend even faster!

Good news 2:

These people

Will receive an extra payment of wages this month

If you stay on duty during the Qingming Festival holiday, you will receive an additional overtime pay this month.

How should overtime pay be calculated?

■ April 5 (Qingming Festival) is a statutory public holiday. If the employer arranges work, it must pay compensation of no less than 300% of the worker’s daily wage.

■ April 4 and April 6: if work is arranged and compensatory time off cannot be scheduled, compensation must be paid at no less than 200% of the worker’s daily wage.

■ Also, for workers under an irregular working hours system, whether overtime pay is required for work on statutory public holidays varies by local regulations.

Overtime pay calculation formulas ↓↓↓

■ Triple-pay calculation formula: monthly wage standard ÷ 21.75 × 300%

■ Double-pay calculation formula: monthly wage standard ÷ 21.75 × 200%

(Note: 21.75 is the number of paid days per month)
