People’s Finance News, April 6—Multiple media outlets reported earlier that a small number of tankers and cargo ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Reuters reported on April 5 that a tanker carrying Iraqi crude oil has passed through the Strait of Hormuz and will unload at relevant ports in Malaysia in mid-April. Citing unnamed sources, the outlet reported that Iran has allowed multiple vessels associated with Malaysia to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, Qatar’s Al Jazeera reported that Iran said it would allow Iraq to use the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions. In another Reuters report, the outlet said that the Iraqi State Oil Marketing Organization has asked customers to submit their crude oil loading plans as soon as possible. The BBC reported on April 4 that a large container ship belonging to the French CMA CGM shipping group has also passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Shipping analytics firm Kpler said this is the first ship crossing the Strait of Hormuz owned by a Western European large shipping company since the outbreak of the Israel-Iran war. In addition, Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines also said that a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier under the company’s fleet passed through the Strait of Hormuz earlier. (Xinhua News Agency)
