Ukraine And Bulgaria To Establish Energy Corridor By Year's End - Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement during a joint press conference with Bulgaria’s interim Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov in Kyiv, according to Ukrinform.

“We are working to ensure that this energy corridor becomes operational. I am grateful for today’s discussion, as well as for the productive work of our ministers, particularly those in the energy sector, who have been working on this. We hope this corridor will be technically completed by the end of the year,” Zelensky said.

He emphasized that this corridor will be very important for Ukraine, as it could serve as an alternative in the event that certain European countries block supplies, particularly of gas.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine will be able to receive about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year through this corridor.“For us, this also means energy security guarantees. I am grateful for this,” the President emphasized.

As reported, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced the suspension of emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine starting February 23. Earlier, Slovakia announced the suspension of diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine.
