        Rizhao Port has now formed an integrated industrial chain of “production–warehousing–logistics,” which has significantly shortened the fertilizer transshipment cycle and attracted multiple agricultural input enterprises to set up in Rizhao.            

According to a Rizhao Port official WeChat post on April 6, visitors to the Rizhao Port terminal site of Shandong Port find that multiple fertilizer vessels are loading simultaneously, while transport vehicles weave back and forth—an energetic, busy scene. In the first quarter of this year, Rizhao Port’s fertilizer handling volume grew significantly year on year. With high-quality and efficient “spring services,” it has kept the fertilizer logistics channel running smoothly and worked hard to ensure stable supplies of agricultural inputs for spring farming.

“Seizing the spring farming window, we have reached out to interface-side units in advance and made preparations for inspection and customs clearance, ensuring that imported fertilizers can be put into the frontline for farming in a timely manner.” Zhang Weixiao, Director of the Yutai Operations Department of Company Three, said.

During fertilizer loading and unloading operations, Company Three has continued to advance process innovation, focusing on improving loading and unloading quality and efficiency. Based on the characteristics of different fertilizer cargo types, dedicated loading zones are set up, along with enclosed special grabs; efficient dust-prevention facilities are added; and a gantry crane grab direct-loading mode is used. This enables unloading from ships and direct loading into storage right away, which both reduces cargo loss and suppresses dust dispersal.

In addition, Company Three has also actively explored a “bulk cargo + container” ship-loading model. It has converted open-top containers into fertilizer-dedicated containers, and loading efficiency has increased by more than 30% compared with before. “Rizhao Port has high efficiency and great service, giving us valuable time—absolutely fantastic,” the customer praised.
