China’s AI large-model call volume increased by over 31% month-over-month, surpassing the United States for five consecutive weeks in a row! Alibaba’s Qwen 3.6 Plus (free) ranks first.
《Daily Economic News》 calculates based on the latest OpenRouter data that last week (from March 30 to April 5), the total global calls of AI large models reached 27 trillion Tokens, a month-over-month increase of 18.9%. Among the AI large models on the list, China’s AI large models saw weekly call volume rise to 12.96 trillion Tokens, up 31.48% from the previous week; the weekly call volume for the U.S. AI large models was 3.03 trillion Tokens, a month-over-month increase of 0.76%. China’s AI large model weekly call volume has grown for five consecutive weeks and has surpassed the United States for five consecutive weeks.
《Daily Economic News》 noted that last week, the top six in global call volume rankings were all China’s AI large models. Among the top three, two are Alibaba Qwen 3.6 series models. These include Qwen3.6 Plus (free), which ranked first with weekly calls of 4.6 trillion Tokens; Qwen3.6 Plus Preview ranked third with weekly calls of 1.64 trillion Tokens.
Xiaomi MiMo-V2-Pro, which ranked first in the previous week, fell to second, with weekly calls reaching 3.08 trillion Tokens, down 22% month over month. Step 3.5 Flash (free) by Zhipu AI ranked fourth, with weekly calls of 1.26 trillion Tokens, down 16% month over month. MiniMax M2.7 ranked fifth, with weekly calls of 1.19 trillion Tokens, down 7% month over month. DeepSeek V3.2 ranked sixth, with weekly calls of 1.19 trillion Tokens, down 4% month over month.
Zhipu GLM 5 Turbo and MiniMax M2.5, which were ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, in the previous week, dropped out of the rankings.
