【Gold Rush Interactive】Apple's first foldable screen smartphone is expected to be released in the second half of the year. Several listed companies have responded regarding their foldable screen-related plans and progress.
People’s Finance Network, April 7—On April 7, the foldable-screen concept saw active performance. On April 6, media reports said Foxconn is trial-producing Apple’s first foldable-screen phone. In response, on April 7, an Apple supply-chain insider told a reporter from Securities Times that the plan for Apple’s first foldable-screen phone project was determined long ago, and the project is currently advancing normally. Trial production is a necessary stage before the product’s official mass production; generally, it must go through engineering validation, design validation, and production trial-production validation, and then move on to full-scale mass production. According to the normal advancement schedule, the product is expected to be released this autumn.
Recently, multiple listed companies have replied to investors’ questions about foldable screens on interactive platforms. Among them, Lingyi Zhizao said that the company has already supplied foldable-screen terminal hardware to leading customers both at home and abroad. The company added that its various foldable-screen projects are advancing smoothly and that it is proceeding with ramping mass production and customer deliveries in line with its plans. Lens Technology said that the company is deeply cooperating with customers on the R&D of UTG glass to prepare for mass production of new models in the second half of the year. Yi’an Technology said that it holds a positive and optimistic view of the application prospects of amorphous alloy in the hinge-main-shaft field of foldable-screen phones, and that it will continue to deepen technology collaboration and joint development with downstream core customers. Delong Laser said that it has built a complete set of solutions for foldable screens—from cover glass, carbon fiber, and metal hinges to OLED screens, circuit boards, and automation. The above products have already obtained customer orders, but revenue from foldable-screen-related business accounts for a small proportion. Jingyan Technology said that its foldable-screen business mainly has two parts: one is MIM parts used for the hinge, and the other is foldable-screen hinge module components.
A report titled “Foldable Smart Phone Market Forecast,” released by Counterpoint Research recently, shows that, supported by factors including Apple’s expected entry, the smartphone market’s continued premiumization, and an increase in OEM participation, global shipments of foldable smart phones in 2026 are expected to grow by 20%. With Apple preparing to launch its first foldable-screen iPhone, the foldable-smartphone market will enter a new phase of competition in 2026.
