Just saw something interesting about whether Trump actually collects Social Security. Apparently he's been eligible for the max payout since his first term because of all the taxes he's paid over the years. But here's the thing - if he waited until 70 to claim it, he'd only be getting around $5,181 a year. If he claimed early at 62, it drops to like $2,969 annually. Not exactly life-changing money for a billionaire lol.

But the wild part is you don't need to be rich to get those same maximum benefits. Anyone who puts enough into the system over their lifetime can qualify for it. The Social Security Administration has a cap though - once you're earning over a certain threshold, you don't get more benefits even if you make more money.

The article basically says Trump probably isn't relying on Social Security checks to stay wealthy obviously. He built his money through real estate and his brand. Which is kinda the point they're making - Social Security should be extra padding for your retirement, not your main plan. Most people are better off focusing on building actual wealth instead of counting on government programs. Interesting to see the actual numbers though, even for someone like Trump.
