Bloomberg cited sources saying that Apple’s first foldable-screen iPhone is expected to be released later this year during the company’s regular iPhone launch window, easing market concerns about manufacturing hurdles.

Reporting by Nikkei Asia says Apple faces challenges during the engineering testing phase of the device, which could delay its production and shipping plans.

Sources also said Apple plans to unveil the foldable model in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Apple’s phones typically go on sale about a week after the launch.

Sources said that although the complexity of the new display and materials may constrain supply in the first few weeks, Apple still plans to bring the device to market around the same time as the new non-foldable models or shortly thereafter.
