Odaily Planet Daily reports that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a brief with the federal court opposing the request by Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm to have the criminal charges dismissed. The DOJ argues that the latest Supreme Court ruling he cites is unrelated to this case.

Previously, Storm’s attorney attempted to rely on a civil case ruling involving copyright infringement as grounds for dismissal. However, U.S. prosecutors said the legal context addressed in that ruling is clearly different from the current criminal case and should not affect this matter. Based on the current developments, the Roman Storm case may still proceed and move into the next stage of proceedings. (Decrypt)
