European Central Bank Governing Council Member: The European Central Bank will discuss raising interest rates and maintaining current rates.

ME News message. April 5 (UTC+8). According to Jin10, in a podcast episode broadcast on April 4, European Central Bank Executive Board member and Dutch Central Bank governor Klaas Knot said the ECB will next discuss options around rate hikes and keeping interest rates unchanged. He believes this will be the focus of the discussion at the ECB interest rate decision meeting on April 30. Even though there will be new data available to consider by then, the amount will be limited. He added: “At the moment, we are the same as the U.S. Federal Reserve—we don’t know how the interest rate path will develop. But in any case, we will ultimately make a decision based on the data available at that time.” (Source: Jin10)
