U.S. Military Ceases Strikes Against Iran

On April 8, The New York Times reported that a U.S. official stated that military strikes against Iran have ceased under a two-week ceasefire agreement. According to three Iranian officials, Iran accepted Pakistan’s proposed two-week ceasefire after urgent mediation from Pakistan and last-minute interventions from other countries, which called for Iran to show flexibility and de-escalate tensions, amid growing concerns that damage to critical infrastructure could lead to severe economic repercussions.
