Alibaba establishes Group Technology Committee focused on AI; Alibaba Cloud CTO changes hands
【Caixin Network】 Personnel changes related to Alibaba AI have been announced. On April 8, Alibaba Group CEO and Cloud Intelligence Group CEO Wu Yongming released a notice regarding organizational adjustments related to the Group’s AI, announcing the establishment of the Alibaba Group Technology Committee, with Wu Yongming as chair. Members include Zhou Jingren, Wu Zeming (nickname “Fanyu”), and Fei Fei Li (nickname “Flying Knife”).
In addition, Li Fei Fei replaces Zhou Jingren as Alibaba Cloud CTO (Chief Technology Officer), responsible for Alibaba Cloud’s technology and the construction of AI cloud infrastructure. Li Fei Fei previously served as the general manager of the Intelligent Database Business Unit at Alibaba Cloud.
Tongyi Lab has been upgraded to the Tongyi Large Model Business Unit, led by Zhou Jingren, who also serves as the Chief AI Architect of the Technology Committee. Wu Zeming has stepped down as CEO of Taobao Flash Purchase and has been succeeded by Lei Yanqun. Wu Zeming will focus on Alibaba Group CTO work, responsible for building the Group’s business technology platform and AI inference platform, and also serves as the convener of the Technology Committee.
