๐ดThe Strait of Hormuz ceasefire is here, but over 800 ships are still stuck:
More than 800 vessels remain trapped inside the Persian Gulf despite Tuesday's US-Iran truce, according to Bloomberg.
The stranded fleet includes 426 crude and fuel tankers, 34 LPG carriers, and 19 LNG ships.
This comes as not a single loaded LNG carrier has successfully transited the Strait since the war began five weeks ago.
Notably, ~20% of global LNG traffic passed through Hormuz last year.
An estimated 20,000 civilian seafarers are stuck onboard, facing dwindling supplies and psychological stress, according to the IMO.
Pre-war, ~135 ships transited daily, a figure that has collapsed to near zero.
Meanwhile, the ceasefire terms remain unclear: Iran says it agreed to two weeks of "safe passage" within "technical limitations," while Trump announced a "complete, immediate, and safe opening."
The entire world is watching what happens next at the Strait of Hormuz.
