According to monitoring by 1M AI News, CapCut today announced the launch of ByteDance's AI-based video generation model Dreamina Seedance 2.0 in the United States, allowing all users to try it for free once. New users can take advantage of a 90% discount on their first monthly subscription to CapCut Pro (limited-time offer). The model is available through three channels: the CapCut app (login to AI Lab v17.1.0), the desktop version, and the web (Video Studio), and it is being rolled out gradually. The US has become the latest major market to join the global promotion of Seedance 2.0. Last week, ByteDance expanded the model to Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, but excluded the US. Hollywood studios such as Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Netflix previously threatened legal action against ByteDance for copyright infringement, which led ByteDance to temporarily suspend its global promotion plans. CapCut stated that this launch includes "strict security measures" to prevent unauthorized use of personal images or intellectual property, but it remains unclear whether ByteDance has resolved copyright disputes.
