Mars Finance news. According to a report by CCTV News, on April 8 local time, when attending an event in Hungary, U.S. Vice President Vance said that the ceasefire reached between the United States and Iran is a “fragile truce.” He did not disclose more details, and only said that the agreement’s contents include the ceasefire, moving negotiations forward, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Vance said that U.S. President Trump has asked the U.S. representative responsible for negotiations with Iran to engage in consultations “in good faith,” but at the same time said that Trump “is eager to see progress.” He also said that the United States is ready to use “unusual economic leverage,” but Trump has instructed the U.S. side to “not use those measures for now.” Vance said that if Iran “in good faith” negotiates, the U.S. side may be able to reach an agreement, but that “the final way negotiations proceed depends on Iran.”
