On March 31, Mao Ning, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presided over a regular press briefing. A reporter asked about whether a delegation of the European Parliament will travel to Beijing and Shanghai from March 31 to April 2.

Mao Ning said that exchanges between legislative bodies are an important component of China-EU relations. As we understand it, at the invitation of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, a delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection will visit China starting today. We believe this visit will promote exchanges and cooperation between legislative bodies in China and the EU, enhance the European Parliament’s understanding and recognition of China, and help foster the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations.
