It’s no problem to register for Google, Twitter, and other services. Bird SMS mainly targets domestic app testing, with codes arriving in 5 to 15 seconds, offering good value. Getsmscode is cheap, but verification codes on less popular platforms can sometimes be delayed.

A few tips when using virtual phone numbers to receive SMS: some numbers are shared and may have been used by others; verification codes can indeed be delayed, especially for less common countries or apps; it’s best to choose reputable platforms and not just go for the cheapest. If you’re just testing an API, any platform that supports API access will do. But if you want stable registration for a specific overseas website, my experience is to load multiple numbers and switch immediately if one becomes invalid.

Some platforms support one-click number switching, which is super useful. If you don’t receive an SMS, try switching to a different country’s number or refreshing the number. Sometimes the target service blocks virtual number segments. Based on my experience, SMS-Activate and 5SIM perform the most stable overall, with low latency and full country coverage.
