Goldman Sachs: Current tech stock valuations present investment opportunities

According to Goldman Sachs strategists, the tech sector’s relative weakness “is starting to create appealing valuation opportunities.” A team led by Peter Oppenheimer said that concerns triggered by mega-scale data center capital expenditures have caused the valuations of technology stocks to be lower than what would be implied by the global market’s overall valuation versus expected earnings growth. The team noted that technology stocks’ price-to-earnings ratio is lower than those in the consumer discretionary, consumer staples, and industrial sectors, but their growth rate remains strong.
