In March, China's silicon wafer production was 50.57GW, a month-on-month increase of 14.55%.

In March 2026, China’s wafer manufacturers produced 50.57 GW, up 14.55% month over month, but down 6.71% year over year. The increase in wafer output in March was mainly driven by the temporary demand boost from the cancellation of export VAT rebates. However, as the industry as a whole continues to face issues such as weak demand and high inventory levels, wafer prices remain under pressure moving downward. According to Mysteel, in April 2026, planned wafer production is 47.06 GW, down 6.93% month over month. (Mysteel)
