European Central Bank Governing Council Member: The European Central Bank will discuss raising interest rates and maintaining current rates.

ME News message: On April 5 (UTC+8), in a podcast aired on April 4, Klaas Knot, an ECB Executive Board member and President of De Nederlandsche Bank, said that the ECB will next discuss options around raising rates and keeping interest rates unchanged. He believes this will be the focus of the discussion at the ECB’s April 30 interest-rate decision. Although there will be new data to reference by then, the amount is limited. He added: “Right now, we are in the same position as the Federal Reserve—we are not sure how the interest-rate path will develop. But in any case, we will ultimately make a decision based on the data available at the time.” (Source: Jin10)
