Film and TV ETF Guotai (516620) rises over 1.3%, film and TV sector welcomes multiple strategic opportunities
On April 7, the Cathay 516620 Film and TV ETF rose by more than 1.3%, as the film and TV sector sees multiple opportunities for new initiatives.
Guangfa Securities said that for the film theater industry in the short term, revenue from long-form video industry memberships and advertising revenue have entered a stable stage, and platforms are actively exploring new businesses related to their core operations. Investors should pay attention from a mid-term perspective to systematic improvements on the supply side brought about by the new regulations for radio and television, as well as the cost-reduction, quality-improvement, and efficiency-enhancement effects enabled by AI in the film and television industry. For the cinema circuit side, it is recommended to focus on the follow-up scheduling of releases for major films and the recovery of the broader box-office during popular release windows, as well as the catalysts for film production-side and rights holders’ stock prices from AI narrative technologies such as Seedance 2.0. In AI video applications, regarding the combination of IP and AI video, it is suggested to watch related deployments.
The Cathay Film and TV ETF (516620) tracks the CSI Film and TV Theme Index (930781). The index selects securities of listed companies involved in areas such as film, television series, and variety show production and distribution from the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets as index constituents to reflect the overall performance of China’s film and television industry listed companies. Its constituent stocks cover content creation, production, and distribution stages, mainly focusing on the culture, sports, and entertainment industries, as well as the information transmission, software, and information technology services industries.
