People’s Finance News, April 7 — As of April 7, the Shanghai Airport Immigration Inspection Station has cleared more than 3 million inbound and outbound foreign nationals at Pudong International Airport this year, an increase of 24%. This is the largest air port of entry in the country, and it reached this figure 17 days earlier than last year. According to statistics, among the 3 million passenger trips, foreign visitors coming to China for tourism and sightseeing account for the highest share, at 60%. Business exchanges account for nearly 20%. In addition, cultural exchanges, studying and further education, and visiting family and friends also make up a diversified range of reasons for entry. From the perspective of foreign source countries, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Thailand, and the United States are the top five.
