Iranian media reveal all 10 ceasefire terms
People’s Finance News, April 8—On April 8, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council issued a statement announcing the main contents of 10 ceasefire terms to be submitted to the U.S. by way of Pakistan. Iranian media subsequently disclosed all 10 terms, but the details were not entirely consistent. According to a report by Iran’s Islamic Republic of Broadcasting and Television, the 10 terms are as follows: 1) The U.S. should, in principle, guarantee that it will not infringe upon Iran; 2) Establish a security passage agreement for the Strait of Hormuz to ensure Iran’s leading position; 3) Accept Iran’s uranium enrichment activities; 4) Lift all sanctions imposed on Level 1 Iran; 5) Lift all sanctions imposed on Level 2 Iran; 6) Revoke relevant UN Security Council resolutions; 7) Revoke resolutions related to the International Atomic Energy Agency; 8) Pay compensation to Iran; 9) The U.S. withdraws combat units from the Middle East region; 10) Stop the war on all fronts against Lebanon, etc. Beyond the above, Iran’s Fars News Agency, citing insiders, reported that the terms proposed by Iran also include: under the security passage agreement, Iran will allow a limited number of ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day under Iran’s supervision for a period of two weeks; Iran undertakes not to develop nuclear weapons; Iran agrees to negotiate, in light of its national interests, with countries in the region on bilateral and multilateral peace treaties; and all parties must guarantee that they will not infringe on Iran’s allies. Also, according to an Associated Press report, under the ceasefire terms proposed by the Iranian side, Iran and Oman will charge fees for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. (Xinhua News Agency)
