A magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred in the Kanto region of Japan, with a noticeable tremor in Tokyo.

According to a message from Japan’s Meteorological Agency, around 10:06 a.m. local time today (April 1), a magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The maximum perceived intensity was level 5 (the fifth-highest on Japan’s 10-point seismic intensity scale), with a focal depth of 50 kilometers and strong shaking felt in Tokyo.
