Iran: U.S. destroyer turns back from the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian warning
ME News report, April 11 (UTC+8). On the 11th local time, Iran said that it had detected a U.S. destroyer sailing from the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates toward the Strait of Hormuz. After closely monitoring its movements, Iran’s armed forces immediately notified the Iranian delegation that is negotiating in Pakistan. The delegation then conveyed its position to the U.S. side through the Pakistani mediator and issued a clear warning to the destroyer: if it continues to approach the Strait of Hormuz, it will be struck within 30 minutes, and negotiations will also be affected. Under the firm response of Iran’s armed forces and the timely warning from the negotiation team, the U.S. side ultimately ordered the destroyer to stop advancing and turn back. (Source: ChainCatcher)
