The traditional Nearline HDD, which has long been the cornerstone of massive data storage, is experiencing supply shortages, leading to high-performance, high-cost SSDs gradually becoming the market focus, especially with the potential for explosive rise in the shipment of large-capacity QLC SSDs by 2026.

On September 25, Jin10 reported that according to Trend Force's observations, due to demand in the consumer market being overly drawn in the first half of the year, the peak season in the second half did not perform as expected, and the market generally anticipated that prices would enter a period of consolidation in Q4. However, the shortage of HDD supply and prolonged delivery times caused CSPs (Cloud Service Providers) to rapidly shift storage demand to QLC Enterprise SSDs, leading to a surge of urgent orders in the short term, resulting in significant market fluctuations. At the same time, SanDisk was the first to announce a price increase of 10%, and Micron also paused its quotes due to considerations of price and capacity allocation, shifting the supply side atmosphere from conservative to active. Driven by this spillover effect, it is estimated that the contract prices of various NAND Flash products will rise across the board in the fourth quarter, with an average increase of 5-10%.
