CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Volatility futures on June 1, 2026, pending regulatory approval.
The contracts will settle to the CME CF Bitcoin Volatility Index (BVX), a 30 day implied volatility benchmark derived from CME Bitcoin options.
The new product gives institutions a way to hedge Bitcoin volatility without taking direct price exposure, expanding regulated risk management tools for the market.
