I saw a story in the feed about some guy who allegedly lost more than 5 billion and is now considered the poorest person in the world. It sounds like another crypto horror story that occasionally pops up online.

Honestly, I don’t quite understand the logic of such a ranking. Who is the poorest person in the world is a complicated question because poverty is measured in different ways. But if we’re talking about losses in cryptocurrencies, then yes, such stories do happen.

The story about Jerome Calvin sounds extreme — losing everything that was, and ending up surrounded by banknotes (probably referring to paper money that no longer helps). It reminds me of a classic financial crash, where a person was wealthy on paper but lost everything in an instant.

In the crypto world, this happens more often than one would like. People lose fortunes on volatile assets like SHIB, PEPE, SOL, or even BTC if they mismanage their positions. It’s a brutal market, and stories of losses are part of its reality.

Just a reminder: even if someone lost billions, it doesn’t mean the story is over. People recover. But yes, the question of who is the poorest person in the world remains open.
SHIB1.6%
PEPE0.72%
SOL3.25%
