Golden Finance reports that today, Wang Jiangping, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that there is currently a “dammed lake” dilemma in AI scientific discovery. He analyzed that AI’s predictive results are growing exponentially, but human verification and industrialization capabilities are growing linearly, creating a huge gap between the two. AI’s daily predictions require humans 10 years or even longer to verify. This contradiction is like a “dammed lake” blocking the channel for scientific discoveries to be transformed into practical applications, resulting in a large number of predictive results that cannot be promptly verified through experiments or industrialized, and also occupying a significant amount of research resources and computing power.
