IAEA: Iran plans to expand uranium enrichment activities at two facilities

On November 29th, Jinshi Data reported that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a report on Thursday stating that Iran has notified the IAEA of its plans to install more uranium enrichment centrifuges at its Fordow and Natanz nuclear facilities, and to connect the recently installed machines to the internet. However, the report did not mention Iran’s intention to enrich uranium to a purity level of 60%, which is close to weapons grade. Iran informed the IAEA that the newly built 8 sets of advanced IR-6 centrifuges at Fordow would enable uranium enrichment up to a purity of 5%.
