# An Elderly Woman at the Bank

An elderly woman handed her card to the cashier and said:
"I want to withdraw 10 euros".
The cashier responded:
"For amounts less than 100 euros, use the ATM".
The elderly woman asked why.
The cashier, annoyed, returned her card and said:
"Those are the rules, please leave if you're not going to do another transaction. There are more customers waiting".
The elderly woman remained silent for a few seconds, handed the cashier her card again and said:
"Then, help me withdraw all the money I have".
The cashier checked the account and was surprised. She then said respectfully:
"You have 300,000 euros, but we don't have that much cash available right now. Could you come back tomorrow with an appointment?"
The elderly woman asked how much she could withdraw at that moment.
The cashier responded:
"Up to 3,000 euros".
"Perfect, give me 3,000 euros", she said.
The cashier, now much friendlier, handed her the money.
The elderly woman put 10 euros in her purse and then asked for the remaining 2,990 to be deposited back into her account.

## Moral:
Never underestimate elderly people… they've spent their entire lives learning how to play their cards well.
