Trump: The UK and the US are negotiating a trade agreement

PANews reported on February 28th that President Trump met with visiting British Prime Minister Stamer. After the meeting, the two held a joint press conference. Regarding the relevant topics of US-UK trade and cooperation, Trump stated that the US and UK are negotiating a bilateral trade agreement. Trump said that they will reach a “great trade protocol,” ultimately achieving a protocol that is very beneficial to both countries. Efforts are being made and it is expected to reach this protocol with the UK soon. Stamer stated that the two countries have begun to develop a new economic protocol centered around advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to strengthen their trade relationship. As for Trump’s recent threats of imposing tariffs on other countries, Trump mentioned that he discussed the issue of US tariffs on the UK with Stamer, who tried to persuade him not to impose tariffs on the UK. Trump also stated that if a trade protocol is reached, there would be no need to impose tariffs on the UK.
