Coinbase Launches AI-Powered USDC Payment Function for 5,000+ Business Customers

According to Odaily, Coinbase rolled out AI agent-initiated payment support through Coinbase Business, enabling merchants to receive autonomous USDC transfers via the x402 open payment standard and manage funds within the same account. Since launching Coinbase Business in June 2025, the platform has onboarded approximately 5,000 customers and processed about $1 billion in transaction volume. Users can earn 3.35% rewards on eligible idle USDC balances.

Coinbase also expanded Coinbase for Agents with real-time trading capabilities, allowing AI agents to monitor open orders, view market depth, and track live prices and volumes, with all operations constrained by user-defined limits.
