Decisive Non-Farm Battle! White House officials intensively "give a heads-up": 50,000 new cases may be normal

BlockBeats News, February 11 — Due to a temporary suspension by some government departments, the U.S. January non-farm payroll report, originally scheduled for release last Friday, has been postponed to this Wednesday. Previously, several “secondary” employment indicators showed weakness, raising concerns in the market about a slowdown in employment growth.

Data shows that January ADP employment growth was weak, and Challenger layoffs increased significantly; the four-week moving average of initial unemployment claims rose as of the end of January; December JOLTS job openings fell to their lowest level in nearly five years. However, the ISM manufacturing and services employment indices performed relatively steadily, somewhat easing pessimistic expectations.

Ahead of the non-farm payroll release, White House officials have been actively guiding market expectations. White House senior trade advisor Peter Navarro stated that the market should “significantly lower” its expectations for monthly employment data, believing that in the current context of deporting illegal immigrants and shrinking labor force, an employment increase of about 50,000 per month can be considered “stable,” and should no longer be compared to the six-figure increases during Biden’s administration.

Kevin Hasset, director of the White House National Economic Council, also said that employment data might appear weaker due to a decline in the labor force, but this is not inconsistent with strong GDP growth and productivity improvements, and the market should not panic excessively.

Additionally, the final revision of the 2025 employment baseline data is also noteworthy. Preliminary data previously showed employment figures revised downward by nearly one million, causing market volatility. As non-farm data approaches, the market’s judgment on the Federal Reserve’s policy path and the true strength of the employment market may face a critical test.

Deutsche Bank: The US dollar remains high, but Trump's remarks limit the gains

ChainCatcher News, according to Jinshi reports, German Commercial Bank analyst Michael Pfister stated in a report that the better-than-expected U.S. non-farm employment data prompted the market to lower expectations of Fed rate cuts, and the dollar remains high. However, U.S. President Trump called for further rate cuts, which to some extent restrained the dollar from rising further. He pointed out that Trump's stance contradicts traditional economic theory and may imply that the Fed's future rate cuts will exceed current market expectations.

QCP Capital: This bear market feels more like a liquidity reset rather than a structural collapse

QCP Capital's Elbert Iswara believes that the current bear market is a liquidity reset, with the market affected by risk aversion sentiment, ETF fund outflows, and derivatives adjustments amplifying volatility. Bitcoin, as a risk asset sensitive to liquidity, performs closely with macro factors. In the short term, attention should be paid to key price levels, ETF fund flows, and leverage liquidations. In the long term, Bitcoin's value drivers are adoption rate and market structure maturity.

The fear index drops to 5, hitting multi-year lows. Bitcoin and Ethereum come under pressure. When will the market rebound?

February 12 News, the cryptocurrency market sentiment has sharply deteriorated. The latest data shows that the Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has fallen to 5, officially entering the "Extreme Fear" zone, reflecting a rapid loss of investor confidence amid ongoing price declines and increasing macroeconomic uncertainty. The index was still at 26 a month ago and dropped to 12 a week ago, with the steep decline over a short period highlighting a dramatic shift in sentiment. This change is not an isolated event. The Global Uncertainty Index surged above 100,000 in the third quarter of 2025, and remained close to 95,000 in the fourth quarter, far exceeding the peaks seen during the pandemic, Brexit, and the Eurozone debt crisis. Geopolitical tensions, uncertain policy outlooks, and financial market volatility have collectively amplified risk-averse sentiment and driven capital outflows from high-risk assets.
