Abstract generation in progress

According to 1M AI News monitoring, CapCut today announced that ByteDance’s AI video generation model Dreamina Seedance 2.0 is now live in the United States. All users can try it for free once, and new users can get a 50% off (one-time) discount on CapCut Pro for their first month (limited time). The model is accessible through three channels: the CapCut app (v17.1.0, via the AI Lab entrance), the desktop client, and the web version (Video Studio), and it is being rolled out in batches.

The U.S. is the main market that was added last during the global rollout of Seedance 2.0. Last week, ByteDance expanded the model to Africa, South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, but excluded the U.S. Hollywood studios such as Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Netflix previously threatened legal action against ByteDance over alleged copyright infringement, and the backlash had previously forced ByteDance to temporarily pause its global rollout plans. CapCut says this launch includes “strict safety measures” to prevent unauthorized use of personal likenesses or intellectual property, but it’s unclear whether ByteDance has resolved the copyright dispute.
