PANews January 27 News, according to The Block, BlackRock has submitted a registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (iShares BTC Premium Income ETF), aiming to provide income-generating features for Bitcoin investments.
The fund will directly hold Bitcoin to track the spot price, while generating income through an actively managed “covered call” strategy. Its investment advisor will actively sell call options—primarily targeting BlackRock’s own IBIT shares, and sometimes other Bitcoin-tracking ETP indices—and will earn option premiums as income. If approved, this product will offer Bitcoin ETF investors an income mechanism similar to Ethereum or SOL funds that generate returns through staking.
