BlockBeats News, February 12 — Prediction market platform Polymarket announced that “New York’s First Free Grocery Store, The Polymarket,” has officially opened at 137 South 7th Avenue in New York City. As New York City’s first free grocery store, built by New Yorkers and serving New Yorkers.

Recently, prediction market platforms Kalshi and Polymarket have intensified their user acquisition competition, using “free food” promotions in New York. On February 3, Kalshi launched an event at WestSide Market in Lower Manhattan, offering customers free groceries worth $50. The event drew long lines, with many participants saying it was equivalent to several hours’ wages and very attractive. Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour stated that the move was to give back to the community and expand their user base.
