ChainCatcher reports that, according to market sources, cryptocurrency asset management firm Bitwise has acquired staking service company Chorus One, which manages over $2.2 billion in staked assets. This move could help Bitwise expand its crypto staking product portfolio.
The acquisition will enable Bitwise to extend staking capabilities to more than 30 blockchain networks, including Solana, Hyperliquid, Monad, Avalanche, and Sui. Chorus One’s 50 employees will join Bitwise Onchain Solutions, a division that manages billions of dollars in staked crypto assets. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley stated that staking remains one of the “most attractive growth opportunities” for its thousands of clients holding spot cryptocurrencies. Staking allows crypto token holders to earn annual rewards of 2% to 10% by locking up their tokens.
